About Mr. Stahle

Welcome to our band's website!  I am a 1992 graduate of MHS!  I went to college at the University of South Dakota where I completed a music education degree in 1997.   I started my teaching career in the Waterville-Elysian-Morristown district south of Minneapolis.  Soon after finishing my first year teaching, I became the assistant director at Farmington High School (Minneapolis suburban school district).  In 2000, I left teaching briefly to work in the tech industry in Sioux Falls.  In 2003, I moved back to my hometown of Mitchell and have been the director of bands at Mitchell High School for 20 years.  I am the director of the SDHSAA South Dakota All-State Jazz Band, Band Chair for the South Dakota Music Educators Association, president of the South Dakota chapter of Phi Beta Mu (music fraternity), and a member of the South Dakota Bandmasters Association.  My groups at MHS have traveled to New York City in 2005/2011, San Francisco in 2007 and Disney World in 2009/2013/2017 and 2022.

I have been married to my lovely wife Nicole 25 years and have two awesome kids - Hunter (senior pharmacy major at SDSU) and Atlanta (sophomore nursing major at SDSU).  I also have two black lab dogs named Cooper and Chloe!
