Dear Band Parents,
This coming weekend we will be traveling to the Festival of Bands competition. The Festival of Bands competition is set up with afternoon preliminaries and the evening finals at Howard Wood Stadium. The top ten bands from the morning preliminaries in all classes (there are over 40 bands that attend this competition) will be asked to perform again in finals later that evening!
11:00AM LOAD BUSES (BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH OR EAT BEFORE WE LOAD)
11:15AM DEPART FOR SIOUX FALLS
12:15PM ARRIVE AT HOWARD WOOD AND GET INTO UNIFORMS
12:30PM GET INTO UNIFORMS
1:00PM REPORT TO LOCATIONS
1:45PM CANARIES STADIUM WARMUP
2:00PM MARCH OVER TO GATE
2:15PM ARRIVE AT GATE
3:00PM LOAD EQUIPMENT AND UNIFORMS (make sure you eat something at Howard
Wood before finals are announced. If we are one of the first bands to perform, we
will not have time to eat before we perform)
4:15PM PORK LOIN SUPPER PROVIDED FOR KIDS ON MRS. LOVELAND’s LIST
*5:15PM AWARDS AND FINALS ANNOUNCEMENT
*TBA FINALS PERFORMANCE (NO EARLIER THAN 7PM)
*10:30PM DEPART FOR MITCHELL
*11:30PM ARRIVE IN MITCHELL
DIRECTIONS TO HOWARD WOOD STADIUM (2000 W Russell St)
The easiest way to get to Howard Wood Stadium is take I-29 south from I-90….then take the Russell exit and head east. Howard Wood Stadium is on the right side of the street (you cant miss it).
