Sorry for the barrage of texts via Remind today....I wanted to list out EVERYTHING that is left this year so we are all on the same page! The group will rehearse Wednesday (tomorrow), Monday, April 30th and Wednesday, May 2nd (some of those were NOT on the original schedule). After that, we will not have anymore rehearsals. Below are the rest of the performances: Tuesday - April 24th The middle school jazz band WILL be performing tonight at the band concert. The concert will be featuring the 6th/7th/8th grade bands and then the Middle School Jazz Band will finish the concert. We will be performing 3 tunes tonight. Students in the band DO NOT need to wear the jazz band uniform....just what they will be already wearing to the concert. Wednesday - May 2nd Due to ALL of our competitions getting canceled due to weather this year, the Brandon Valley Middle School directors thankfully decided to host a middle school jazz invitational in Brandon. Below is the itinerary for that day: 7:15AM - Regular rehearsal at HS 8:00AM - Bus takes students back to MS 9:00AM - Load bus at MS 9:15AM - Bus picks up equipment at HS 9:30AM - Depart for BV 10:30AM - Arrive in BV 11:15AM - PERFORMANCE/CLINIC (OPEN TO PARENTS IF YOU WANT) 12:15PM - Load bus and grab lunch (provided by our music boosters!) 2:00PM - Depart BV 3:00PM - Arrive in Mitchell and drop off equipment at HS 3:15PM - Kids arrive back at MS Friday, May 4th The Palace City Jam is at the Highland Conference Center at 7PM. The middle school jazz band performs first and will play 4 tunes. The Hegg Brothers will play after that and then the HS Jazz Band will close the concert. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at the Tumbleweed. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. This is a fundraiser for the jazz department! Call time for the MS kids is at 6:15PM. Monday, May 7th The MS jazz band will be playing for the lunch crowds at the MS. Lunch periods are as follows: A Lunch 6th - 11:00-11:26 B Lunch 8th- 11:28-11:55 C Lunch 7th 11:58-12:24 This is open to the public and you can come to any of these three performances. THAT IS IT!
