We are getting close to the start of another marching band camp! This week is INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT to the success of this season! Here are a couple of things to remember and make you aware of below:
REMINDERS Please do not forget to bring a LARGE water bottle to camp on Monday. It is VERY IMPORTANT to stay hydrated during these next few weeks (dont worry - we take plenty of breaks). Even if you dont think you need water...you will want access to it at all times! Also, dont forget to bring sunscreen (and use it), bug spray, comfortable athletic shoes (NO SANDALS OR FLIP FLOPS) and your instrument. Dont forget to bring a lunch or money to eat out as lunch is not provided at camp. SNACKS Every year, Cheryl Miller (the most popular person this week) will be helping us set up snacks for everyone in the breaks. Please bring a non-perishable item to share during these breaks (some items that have been brought in the past would be cookies, crackers, etc.). We may ask everyone to bring another snack later in the week if we are running low. When you arrive on Monday, please put your items in the hallway in a group so Cheryl can grab during that first break! DRESS UP SCHEDULE The drum majors announced this week that the following dress up days will be: August 6 - Neon Day August 7 - 80’s Day August 8 - Tie-dye August 9 - Beach Day August 10 - Crazy Hat Day August 13 - Black and Gold Day August 14 - Camo Day August 17 - Hawaiian Day August 20 - Jersey/Sport Day August 21 - Mr. Stahle Impersonation Day (not sure whether to be flattered or mad here!). :-) You don't have to do this....just if you want to! They will be giving away prizes (usually popsicles - which are great after a day of camp) to the winning person. Just remember - dont come dressed in something that interferes with your ability to march! SPECIAL EVENTS DURING CAMP WEEK AND SCHEDULE August 6th - 8AM-4PM (note the start time is different from all other days) August 7th - 7AM-4PM August 8th - 7AM-1PM (early dismissal so you all can register for classes at MHS) August 9th - 7AM-4PM August 10th - 7AM-4PM (bring your dog to band camp day!
