Dear Band Parents:

I am writing to inform you all of some exciting news.  We officially have a destination and date for our 2009 tour:

 

WIND ENSEMBLE AND JAZZ BAND TOUR 2009                                     DISNEY WORLD - ORLANDO, FL

FEBURARY 11TH-17TH 2009

 

I wanted to get this letter out to all of you so you can get this trip on your calendars.  The students will only miss 2 school days because we will be leaving over President’s Day Weekend.  I don’t have specifics on the trip at this point but I can tell you that the trip will cost around $650 per student (much lower than past trips).  The cost of the trip will include the following (this is obviously subject to change….but most of this will be on the schedule):

·       Multiple performance opportunities for both the Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band.  (The wind ensemble will be taking part in scoring music for a film in the Disney recoding studios!)

·       Park passes to Disney World

·       Park passes to Universal Studios

·       Catered beachside BBQ

·       Stops in St. Louis, Nashville and Daytona Speedway

·       Much more

Darrell Omanson will once again serve as our tour guide (Darrell has years of experience both as a band director and tour guide and has made the trip to Orlando many times before).  What I need at this point is an idea if your child will be making the trip with us in February.   Please email me at ryan.stahle@k12.sd.us if your child is interested in touring with the band this coming year.  This is only a verbal commitment and does not obligate you/your child to attend….it just gives us an idea of how many to plan for.  The first payment will not be due until September 22nd.
